Mountain View Turnings
Crafted by Hand, Inspired by the Mountains

About Mountain View Turnings

I first began working with wood back in 1991, crafting children’s puzzles and holiday pieces by hand. It was a passion I returned to throughout the years—always drawn to the quiet satisfaction of shaping something real.
In the summer of 2024, I found my way to the lathe. A few woodturning classes later, I was hooked—and by August, I was turning pens with care and purpose.
That November, I brought 50 handmade pens to a local Christmas craft show. I left with just a few and a full heart, grateful for the warm response from people who appreciate handmade things.
Now, in what was meant to be my retirement, I find myself busier than ever—with a calendar full of shows and a workshop humming with new ideas. Mountain View Turnings is more than a hobby—it’s how I stay rooted, creative, and connected to this place I call home with a view of the Great Smoky Mountains.
